Pretty Ruby chose the our "Shaheen Dream" classic vintage style; see how perfectly it transformed into a wedding dress?. We made it for her in a fragile matte silk as delicate as her rose petals.

Dawn chose an emerald Chinese brocade with a tiny bamboo motif and a short sleeve bolero. Seeing her here, it's hard to imagine her in any other fabric!

Julie chose this adorable vintage dress style in white cotton that is hand- woven with a fine silver metallic fiber! A little contrast at the bust in deep red made the result just magical and 100% her!

Our Petal Bust style! "Petals" are one of the most irresistible vintage design elements to come out of the New Look era.

A three-quarter sleeve vintage bolero style is a unique addition to a wedding look, seen here in luscious silk satin. This can be just the answer to create an altar look that even Mom will like (if you don't want to show the tattoo at that moment while still being able to wear a dress style that fits your glamorous and siren-like personality!)

Carolyn also chose the "Y" variation for her vintage Hawaiian style wedding dress. Her fabric was a Japanese World War II style Hawaiian rayon print motif with cranes and evergreens. The navy blue contrast with the rust tones in the print just looked stunning with her pale skin and red hair!

Here's the wedding bolero jacket in genuine vintage silk with the addition of a turned-up cuff and covered button. This is our Frederick's of Hollywood inspired vintage style dress (see our Hawaiian Heaven page), interpreted in silk satin with a corselette top and a wrap tea (or cocktail) length skirt.

Most of our styles turn magically into wedding dresses.

You may want long and white; you may want tea length and powder blue.

All of our brides, clearly, have their very own ideas!

Claudia wanted a poufy tea length dress in leopard with wine colored contrast! She found her own black tulle crinoline petticoat to peek out at the hem.

Shot here in our workshop; our Wing Bust style in silk organza. if you prefer a colored wedding dress, we can hand-dye your silk any color you want!

Genuine Vintage Chinese Brocade! This wedding dress had a matching stole.

Above, Claudia's own variation, based a Shaheen vintage dress style. (See our "Shaheen Dream" page.) She opted to have the diagonal sash across the bodice front made into a "Y" shape and the result was so pretty! Her dress was made from gorgeous, heavy genuine vintage silk satin.

A Note To Our Cherished Whirlingturban Customers:

We know how important your wedding dress is to you. For this reason it is extremely important to us as well.

We appeciate your entrusting us with what will most likely be your life's most "crucial" dress decision. As you know, we take great care with every dress we make. But when it's a wedding dress- whoa! We walk around on tiptoe, speak in hushed tones, and call in holy men to bless our pins and scissors. We don't just make you dress in a "size" or an "altered size". We create a custom dress form that *duplicates your own unique curves* and we build your dress on that form!

We scrutinize, we stand back, we peer through magnified lenses. We have meetings, we debate the merit of raising "This" 1/4 of an inch or dropping "That" a centimeter. We email you when there is a question about which we think you might want some input. We often use different construction techniques and fabrics requiring great expertise and careful handling. We spend significantly more time on wedding dresses so they do cost more than the dresses we make that are not intended for use as a wedding dress.

We quote prices for wedding dresses on an individual basis after evaluating the project. Most wedding dresses are about $350 to $850. A dress like ours, made in the U.S., would be infinitely more expensive. Katherine, the "top turban" around here, knows the cost of doing this kind of work in the U.S. because she made gowns and costumes for movies in Hollywood- where absolute perfection was required- for many years. Our studio's location in Bali just allows us special savings that we can pass along to you. And our brides are DELIGHTED!
