100% heavy, luxurious, hand-woven silver-kissed soft white cotton ikat fabric. It's also available in ivory kissed with just a whisper of gold. We have this fabric especially custom-woven for us locally, one tiny batch at a time. You will not find this unique, top-quality, weighty, couture fabric anywhere else!
The fabric and workmanship of the dress are pristine and of the quality you'd expect to find in an exclusive bridal boutique for 3 or 4 times the price. We are able to offer this price only because you can buy direct from us, we're in Bali where our overhead is low, and we can buy this fabric direct from the weaver.
Our charming Wing Bust style was made by studying an original from the 50's designed by the brilliant Alfred Shaheen. The lines are ingeniously flattering and the "wings" at the bust dramatic and whimsical. Waist is flatteringly dropped a bit. Note the alluring ruching above the bust. Clinging bodice, boned cups.
The metallic effect in the fabric is subtle and not high-shine. In fact, in some lighting, the fabric shows no shine at all. We suggest you request a swatch to see it "in person".
YOUR OPTIONS:
Included with the dress is a matching ikat halter strap. The dress can also be worn strapless.
Send your fabric for an extra, alternate colored halter strap and contrast at bust.If you would also like two hand-made, couture bows, as shown in some of the pictures here, the price is + $60.
